This routine is designed to run the Integrity Check on a group of Production Control jobs without operator intervention. It is run from the command line and would normally be scheduled to automatically run at regular intervals such as after a scheduled daily backup. After installation and before running the integrity check for the first time, the data locations and other setup options must be configured.
The data locations must first be set using the /PATH switch. To do so, at the command prompt; change to the folder containing the PC7IC.exe program then enter the command "PC7IC /PATH". This should display a screen that will allow you to set the data files folder for the Fabrication Package data (usually ....Romac7\) and the Production Control data (usually ....Romac7\ProdCtrl\).
After the data locations have been set, the command "PC7IC /SETUP" should be entered. The setup screen options are:
Reindex Drawings - checking this box will cause the program to reindex the drawings list for each job. Normally, this process does not require a lot of time for each job and we recommend that you check this option.
Recalculate Jobs - checking this box will cause the program to recalculate all weights for each job. If you are running the integrity check routine on several jobs, it can take a long time to complete the integrity checks. We suggest that you not check this box and let the operator run the recalculate routine for individual jobs from within the Production Control program.
Jobs to Include: - Three options are available; "All Jobs", "Active Jobs Only" and "Selected Jobs". If "Selected Jobs" is chosen, you will be able to enter a list of jobs to be checked. The jobs entered in the list must be seperated by commas.
The command "PC7IC /VER" will display the program version.
After configuration, the command "PC7IC" will run the batch integrity check program. The program will not display a screen message unless an error is encountered. If a selected job is locked, the routine will skip that job. Any problems with job file integrity will be reported to the file PCErrLog.txt. This file will be located in the production control data folder. Currently, there is no report of jobs sucessfully checked or of locked jobs. You can manually run the program from the command line then moniter the task "PC7IntgChk" through Windows Task Manager to get an idea of how long the process takes for various settings.
