Romac Series 7 Purchase Order

Adding your company logo to the Purchase Order Vendor Copy

Your company logo can be added to the Purchase Order vendor copy. The logo (or other graphic image) will print in the upper left corner of each copy of the purchase order. This is the space where your company name and address is normally printed. Additionally, a footer graphic can be printed at the end of the purchase order.

To add the logo and/or footer, create a jpg file of the logo and/or footer graphic. The jpg file can be created with software or you can scan your logo. If the jpg file is in color and you are printing on a color printer, the graphics will print in color on the purchase order. Generally, the jpg image should not include any margins. The size or resolution of the image does not matter but a high resolution image could cause the purchase order pages to take longer to print.

The area reserved for printing the logo is about 1.1 inches x 5 inches therefore your logo graphic should have a ratio of 1 unit high and 4 units wide. The footer graphic can print the full width of the sheet (about 8 inches) - if you want the graphic to print 2 inches high and 8 inches wide, the image ratio should be 1 unit high and 4 units wide.

These jpg files should be copied to the POData folder on the server.

You must also create a file named DefPO22.fp in the POData folder. The file can be created and edited with Wordpad or Notepad and saved as a Text Document. Note, when saving a text file with these programs, the .txt file extension will sometimes be added to the filename. If the .txt extension is added, you must edit the filename to remove the extension. When saving a file, you can usually enclose the filename in quotes to avoid the .txt extension (for example Save As: "DefPO22.fp"). To add a logo to your purchase order, add the line: POLOGO:logofilename.jpg, image height. To add a footer graphic to your purchase order, add the line: POSIGN:footerfilename.jpg, image height. The image height is the height in inches that the graphic will print on your report. Your DefPO22.fp would look something like this:

POLOGO:CompanyLogo.jpg,1.0
POSIGN:POfooter.jpg,2.0

If you are not printing a logo, the POLOGO line would be omitted. If you are not printing a footer, the POSIGN line would be omitted. The image height for the logo should not exceed 1.1. The image height for the footer should not exceed 4.0 but normally would be in the range of 1.0 to 2.0. You can play around with the jpg files and image height to achieve the results you are looking for. To make the graphic larger or smaller, adjust the image height in the DefPO22.fp file.
